One of three independent board members, Graeme is also Chairman of the Board at Harbour. Graeme founded and was Executive Chairman of Southern Capital Ltd, which became Hirequip NZ Ltd. He has extensive directorship experience, including at New Zealand Farming Systems Uruguay Limited, Sealord Group Limited, Tasman Agriculture Limited, Magnum Corporation Limited, Work Insurance, and alternate director at Air New Zealand. He is a current Director of Tourism Holdings Limited, Areograph Limited, Precinct Properties New Zealand Limited and shareholder and Director of Southern Capital Partners (NZ) Limited. Furthermore, he is a member of the Trust Board of Samuel Marsden Collegiate School and Member of the Management Board of The Bible Society Development (New Zealand) Incorporated.
Bill Trotter

Bill is a director of Harbour Asset Management. Bill is also Chairman of Jarden (formerly called First NZ Capital), appointed in 2002. He was previously Chief Executive of the firm and a Managing Director of Credit Suisse First Boston. Bill has a wide range of experience in capital markets and corporate transactions.
Linda Jenkinson
Independent Director
Linda, the first New Zealand woman to list a company on the NASDAQ stock exchange, co-founded DMSC, a $250 million on-demand courier company which disrupted the courier on-demand business segment. She also co-founded John Paul (formerly LesConcierges), a global customer and employee experience platform which she sold to Accor Hotel Group and WOW for Africa, an organisation that provided investment and business advisory services to support and promote female entrepreneurship in Senegal.
Linda currently serves on the boards of directors of Air New Zealand, Eclipx Group, the Guild Group and the Massey Foundation. She was named EY Master Entrepreneur of the Year NZ in 2013, World Class New Zealander in 2016, and has been recognised at the Women of Influence awards in San Francisco and New Zealand.
Linda was previously a Partner with A.T. Kearney, specialising in financial institutions and strategic sourcing. She holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a B.B.S in Accounting & Finance and Data Processing from Massey University.

Richard Young
Director
Richard joined Jarden (formerly known as CS First Boston, then First NZ Capital) in 1994 and has over 20 years experience in the New Zealand and overseas banking and securities industry. He is currently Group Chief Operating Officer for Jarden. Richard is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Murray Brown
Independent Director, Chair of Audit Committee
Murray Brown became an independent Director of Harbour in 2020, and Chair of Harbour’s Audit and Risk Committee. Murray has over 30 years of experience in investment markets, both as a research analyst and a portfolio manager. He was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Fisher Funds until 2016 looking after Kingfish, property & infrastructure, and local equities. Previous to Fisher Funds, Murray was Head of Research at First NZ Capital.

Murray has been on the Board of the Government Superannuation Fund Authority and Yachting New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration from Victoria University of Wellington. He is also a Chartered Accountant (CA) and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors (CMInstD).
Ruari McGregor
Secretary to the Board (and COO)
Ruari joined Harbour in 2017 after nine years at Trustees Executors in various management roles, including Senior Client Relationship Manager and Business Projects & Change Manager. Ruari’s expertise lies in the operational details of funds management, and his main duties at Harbour include leading our operational and technological systems, managing legal and regulatory requirements, as well as contributing to organisational strategy, and long-term goals. Prior to his work at Trustees, Ruari held roles at State Street Bank & Trust Co, and Deustche Bank in London and Edinburgh. He has over 15 years’ experience, and holds a BA Honours Degree in Financial Services.

Furthermore, Craig has previously worked for the Bank of New Zealand, Chase Global Investor Services (London) and the Bank of Ireland in roles responsible for monitoring and controlling daily cash activity and the management of support staff for Foreign Exchange Trading Desks. Kevin Bennett

Kevin is a founder of Harbour and the Head of Equities Research, providing equity research and ratings on the telco, industrials, healthcare, media, transport and technology sectors. Prior to joining Harbour Asset Management, Kevin was employed by AllianceBernstein New Zealand as a Research Analyst in Australasian Equities. In this role Kevin was responsible for equities research with an emphasis on Telco's, media, transport, forestry, healthcare and cyclical stocks. Kevin was previously a Director and Head of Telecommunications Research (Australasia) at Deutsche Bank. Kevin has over 34 years of investment management experience with such companies as AMP Society, Doyle Paterson Brown, Fay Richwhite and Bankers Trust New Zealand. Kevin has a BMS (Hons) from Waikato University.

Susanna was previously employed by AMP Capital’s multi asset investment team. Susanna began her career in 2008 at AXA Global Investors where she was responsible for quantitative research and authorising Unit Pricing across all AXA New Zealand domestic and global portfolios. She holds a Dean's List Award for her Bachelor of Business Studies with Honours in Finance, from Massey University.
Shane Solly, CFA
Director, Portfolio Manager
Shane is portfolio manager for the Harbour Equity Focus Fund and the Harbour Real Estate Fund and supports the management of Harbour’s other equity mandates. He is responsible for equity research and ratings on the aged care and retirement, airline and leisure, infrastructure and real estate sectors across the New Zealand and Australian equity markets. Shane has more than 25 years of managing portfolios for investors at ANZ, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, ING and Mint, and has previously managed funds that have won numerous industry awards. Shane is a CFA® charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Business in Finance from Massey, where he graduated as a Dean’s list scholar.
Øyvinn Rimer
Director, Senior Research Analyst
Oyvinn is responsible for equity research and ratings on the agriculture, resources, food & beverages, retail, and oil & gas sectors. Oyvinn also helps in portfolio and risk management of the Harbour Long Short Fund. Furthermore, he provides macroeconomic input to the wider Harbour team on the Chinese economy, which he covers through regular research trips to China. He also supports the Harbour team in portfolio risk management. Prior to joining Harbour Asset Management, Oyvinn was employed by AllianceBernstein New Zealand for 2 years as Assistant Research Analyst. Oyvinn holds his Master of Commerce from the University of Canterbury with first class Honours in Finance and is an AFA.

Jorge Waayman
Manager, ESG Research
As the Manager, ESG Research at Harbour, Jorge is primarily responsible for Harbour’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) programme including research and implementation. Harbour’s primary ESG tool, the annual Corporate Behaviour Survey, is overseen by Jorge in conjunction with Kevin Bennett. Jorge began at Harbour as an intern in 2016. He completed his first class BCom (Hons) degree in Finance at Victoria University Wellington prior to joining Harbour.
Simon Momich, CFA
Research Analyst
Simon is a Research Analyst in the equities team and is responsible for providing equity research and ratings on the diversified financial, fintech, insurance and bank sectors. He joined the Harbour team in 2017, having previously worked as a lawyer at Simpson Grierson. Simon holds a conjoint Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance and a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington. Simon is a CFA® charterholder, and an Officer in the Army Reserve and has engaged in emergency disaster relief.
Mitchell Rooney
Investment Analyst
Mitchell as an investment analyst is responsible for the equity trade implementation, cash and foreign exchange management. Additionally, Mitchell provides the team with quantitative analysis and assists in reporting and presentation preparation. Mitchell joined the Harbour team in 2018 as an Operations Analyst to provide investment operations and administrative support to the equities and fixed income teams. Prior to joining Harbour, Mitchell worked at FNZC in a financial operations role. Mitchell has a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from the University of Otago.

Mark's primary responsibilities lie with the fixed income management process, incorporating credit research, portfolio construction and risk management. Mark has an established history providing care for clients and their fixed income portfolios. For 16 years Mark led the fixed income portfolio management team in a continuous capacity at the business that evolved as National Mutual Funds Management, AXA and then Alliance Bernstein. He produced consistently sound and competitive investment performance throughout, notably including the 2007-2009 global financial crisis. Mark has expertise across the breadth of fixed income disciplines, including risk management, economics, credit and quantitative analysis. Mark began his portfolio management career in 1992 at Credit Suisse Asset Management, London, having previously worked for DFC New Zealand and the Bank of New Zealand. He holds an MBA from the University of Rochester, NY.

Simon is a Senior Credit Analyst in the fixed interest team, where his chief responsibility is credit analysis of issuers within the fixed interest and income funds. In addition, Simon is responsible for leading relationships with iwi clients. Prior to joining Harbour, Simon was a research analyst at Investment Solutions UK in London where he managed a multi-manager global equity portfolio. He started his investment career at AXA Global Investors in Wellington, where his primary role was to select and monitor investment managers across all asset classes. Simon gained a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics from Otago University, where he was awarded the William Emery Scholarship. He is also a CFA® charterholder and an AFA.
George Henderson, CFA
Portfolio Manager
George is portfolio manager of Harbour’s Enhanced Cash Fund. Prior to joining Harbour in 2018, George spent 11 years at Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) in London, progressing from trainee to Global Bond Fund Manager where he successfully led the firm’s offering in developed bond markets. Responsible for a variety of institutional and retail products, he also launched the RLAM International Bond Fund and RLAM Global Inflation Linked Fund. George began his career in Sydney with Ibbotson Consultants (now Morningstar) supporting senior consultants in advising institutional pension funds. George holds a Master of Business Studies (Finance) from the University of Otago and the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Hamish Pepper
Fixed Income & Currency Strategist
Hamish joined Harbour in July 2019. He has specific responsibilities for macro-economic research, and fixed interest and currency strategy. His research is reflected in investment decision making across the Harbour investment team, in particular relating to fixed income and currency. Before joining Harbour, Hamish worked as an FX and EM Macro Strategist for Barclays Investment Bank for 8 years in Singapore and London. He was most recently Head of FX & Emerging Markets Macro Strategy Research for Asia, based out of their Singapore office. Hamish was previously a Senior Analyst in the Financial Markets Research team at the Reserve Bank of NZ, responsible for presenting financial market analysis to RBNZ policymakers. He holds a first class BCA (Hons) in Economics.
Jenny Yang
Fixed Income Quantitative Analyst
Jenny joined in 2020 as a Fixed Interest Analyst within Harbour’s Fixed Income team. She is charged with developing a broad range of quantitative analytical tools that will deepen the research and risk management capabilities that apply within fixed interest portfolios and the Harbour Income Fund. She also works on incorporating big data analytics to help identify sources of information not readily available from traditional data sources. Prior to joining Harbour, Jenny was a bank regulator at the Chinese Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, and a lecturer in investments at Lincoln University. She has a PhD in finance from Lincoln University, her research topic was bank efficiency and bank regulation in Asia Pacific region.
Hamish joined Harbour in July 2019. He has specific responsibilities for macro-economic research, and fixed interest and currency strategy. His research is reflected in investment decision making across the Harbour investment team, in particular relating to fixed income and currency. Before joining Harbour, Hamish worked as an FX and EM Macro Strategist for Barclays Investment Bank for 8 years in Singapore and London. He was most recently Head of FX & Emerging Markets Macro Strategy Research for Asia, based out of their Singapore office. Hamish was previously a Senior Analyst in the Financial Markets Research team at the Reserve Bank of NZ, responsible for presenting financial market analysis to RBNZ policymakers. He holds a first class BCA (Hons) in Economics.
Jenny joined in 2020 as a Fixed Interest Analyst within Harbour’s Fixed Income team. She is charged with developing a broad range of quantitative analytical tools that will deepen the research and risk management capabilities that apply within fixed interest portfolios and the Harbour Income Fund. She also works on incorporating big data analytics to help identify sources of information not readily available from traditional data sources. Prior to joining Harbour, Jenny was a bank regulator at the Chinese Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, and a lecturer in investments at Lincoln University. She has a PhD in finance from Lincoln University, her research topic was bank efficiency and bank regulation in Asia Pacific region.

Chris Di Leva, CFA
Portfolio Manager, Multi Asset Specialist
Chris is responsible for managing multi-asset solutions, utilising Harbour’s own strategies as well as external strategies from around the world. He is also Chair of Harbour’s Asset Allocation Committee which drives the positioning of Harbour’s multi-asset clients. Prior to joining Harbour, Chris was a Portfolio Manager at Mercer, where he was responsible for growth assets within Mercer’s fund suite in New Zealand. Chris has a strong track record in investment manager research, tactical asset allocation and structuring investment portfolios for some of New Zealand’s largest institutional investors. Chris is a CFA charter holder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington.
Lewis Fowler

Lewis joined Harbour in 2021 as an investment analyst, contributing towards our growing multi-asset business. His work covers a range of areas including external manager research, modelling and portfolio management support. Lewis recently emigrated to New Zealand from the UK, where he gained 8 years’ investment experience through roles at Deutsche Bank, Aon Hewitt and most recently at BlackRock Investment Management where he was responsible for investment manager research across the Alternatives spectrum for BlackRock's OCIO client base. He holds the CFA designation, and has a BSc Masters MORSE (Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) from the University of Warwick.

Ainsley’s core role at Harbour is leading our client and communications team, and developing investment solutions to suit client needs. She joined the team in 2017, having previously gained over 25 years’ of extensive investment management experience in number of senior roles, including Executive director and Head of Investment Management at First State Investments (NZ), and Head of Investment Management for ASB Group Investments. Notably, during her time at ASB Group, Ainsley designed and launched the ASB default KiwiSaver scheme, and had no fund suspensions or capital loss during the 2008 financial crisis. Ainsley holds a B.Com in Economics, and previously served on the Boards of the Financial Markets Authority, the Government Superannuation Fund Authority and Hohepa Auckland Regional Board.

Shannon joined the Harbour team in 2019 to support Harbour’s community of financial advisors. Her focus is on fostering relationships and engagement and keeping strong lines of communication between advisors and Harbour’s investment team. Previously Shannon was Group Development Manager at Lifetime Retirement Income, a Financial Advisor for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney/Wells Fargo Advisors in Washington, and Regional Marketing Specialist and Team Leader at AIG/SunAmerica Retirement Markets in California. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Finance and Economics from West Washington University. She was named Best Financial Advisor by Bellingham Alive Magazine (‘Best of the Northwest’) and holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 65, 66 licences.

Darshana joined Harbour as Client Services Associate in 2020. She is a member of our Clients and Communications team providing general service and support to our clients, from opening new accounts to ensuring they receive all the reporting and information they need. Darshana has a history working in the financial services industry, coming to Harbour after 5 years working in various client-facing and co-ordination roles for the Bank of New Zealand, most recently as the People Experience Coordinator. Ruari joined us in 2017 after nine years at Trustees Executors in various management roles, including Senior Client Relationship Manager and Business Projects & Change Manager. Ruari’s expertise lies in the operational details of funds management, and his main duties at Harbour include leading our operational and technological systems, managing legal and regulatory requirements, as well as contributing to organisational strategy, and long-term goals. Prior to his work at Trustees, Ruari held roles at State Street Bank & Trust Co, and Deustche Bank in London and Edinburgh. He has over 20 years’ experience, and holds a BA Honours Degree in Financial Services.
Anne-Marie Carian

Anne-Marie leads the Product Management function, and ensures that Harbour’s products comply with regulations. Prior to taking time off to raise a family, Anne-Marie was employed at AllianceBernstein as a Client Relations Associate, where she provided client reporting and servicing for the institutional client base. Anne-Marie began her career with the Bank of New Zealand before travelling to the UK where she worked for JP Morgan Chase in Custody. Anne-Marie holds a Bachelor of Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Massey University.

Cheryll Morales
Director, Operations Manager
Cheryll focuses on managing the provision of investment operations and administration support for the equity and fixed income teams. Cheryll has over seven years’ experience with global custodial banks covering fund management, investment and treasury operations, risk management and project management. Cheryll will be working with the team in Harbour’s Wellington office. Prior to joining Harbour, Cheryll was with JP. Morgan Chase for two years, with a focus on cash forecasting, pooling and management, FX modelling and reconciliations. Cheryll also implemented risk control polices and process improvements across the business. In this role Cheryll was responsible for JP Morgan global clients. Prior to JP Morgan, Cheryll worked at UnionBank of the Philippines managing a team responsible for the settlement, accounting and reporting of money market, fixed income, equity and foreign exchange activities for trust and asset management clients. Cheryll has a Masters of Applied Mathematics in Finance.

Prior to joining Harbour, Anna worked as an EA for an Urban Development Company in Russia, an Office Coordinator for a co-working space, and is a veteran of the fashion industry working as a model, stylist and assistant all over the world. She holds a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Economics from Southern Federal University.
