One of three independent board members, Graeme is also Chairman of the Board at Harbour. Graeme founded and was Executive Chairman of Southern Capital Ltd, which became Hirequip NZ Ltd. He has extensive directorship experience, including at New Zealand Farming Systems Uruguay Limited, Sealord Group Limited, Tasman Agriculture Limited, Magnum Corporation Limited, Work Insurance, and alternate director at Air New Zealand. He is a current Director of Tourism Holdings Limited, Areograph Limited, Precinct Properties New Zealand Limited and shareholder and Director of Southern Capital Partners (NZ) Limited. Furthermore, he is a member of the Trust Board of Samuel Marsden Collegiate School and Member of the Management Board of The Bible Society Development (New Zealand) Incorporated.
Bill Trotter

Bill is a director of Harbour Asset Management. Bill is also Chairman of First NZ Capital, appointed in 2002. He was previously Chief Executive of the firm and a Managing Director of Credit Suisse First Boston. Bill has a wide range of experience in capital markets and corporate transactions.
Wayne Stechman
Independent Director, Chair of Audit Committee
Wayne is a Director and Shareholder of Harbour Asset Management, with an extensive background of over 30 years experience in the financial services and funds management industry. Wayne retired from Tower Asset Management Limited in 2008 after 18 years as portfolio manager and head of Australasian equities. Prior to that Wayne worked for a leading share broking firm as an investment advisor/portfolio manager. His other current roles include Trustee of National Provident Fund and panel member of Financial Services Complaints Ltd.
Linda Jenkinson
Independent Director
Linda, the first New Zealand woman to list a company on the NASDAQ stock exchange, co-founded DMSC, a $250 million on-demand courier company which disrupted the courier on-demand business segment. She also co-founded John Paul (formerly LesConcierges), a global customer and employee experience platform which she sold to Accor Hotel Group and WOW for Africa, an organisation that provided investment and business advisory services to support and promote female entrepreneurship in Senegal.
Linda currently serves on the boards of directors of Air New Zealand, Eclipx Group, the Guild Group and the Massey Foundation. She was named EY Master Entrepreneur of the Year NZ in 2013, World Class New Zealander in 2016, and has been recognised at the Women of Influence awards in San Francisco and New Zealand.
Linda was previously a Partner with A.T. Kearney, specialising in financial institutions and strategic sourcing. She holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a B.B.S in Accounting & Finance and Data Processing from Massey University.

With Merrill Lynch, Andrew managed global equity accounts for pension funds in Japan, Sweden, Spain, Chile, England, the US, Germany and South Africa.
Richard Young
Director
Richard joined First NZ Capital in 1994 (the firm was then known as CS First Boston) and has over 20 years experience in the New Zealand and overseas banking and securities industry. Richard is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Kris Renouf

Kris joined First NZ Capital in 2004. Kris has over 15 years experience offshore and in New Zealand in the banking and securities industry. His career history includes Deloitte, BNZ, UBS and Royal Bank of Scotland. He is responsible for the treasury and financial management and reporting of the firm. Kris is a member of both the Executive Management Committee and the Investment Risk Committee. He is also a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Craig Stent, CFA

Craig is portfolio manager for the Harbour Equity Income Fund. As part of this responsibility Craig provides portfolio management oversight and assists in managing the relationship with key outside parties such as Trustee Executors and Bloomberg. Furthermore, Craig provides equity research and ratings on utility sectors. Prior to joining Harbour Asset Management, Craig was employed by AllianceBernstein New Zealand for seven years, originally as a Client Relations Associate before moving to Assistant Research Analyst in July 2004. Furthermore, Craig has previously worked for the Bank of New Zealand, Chase Global Investor Services (London) and the Bank of Ireland in roles responsible for monitoring and controlling daily cash activity and the management of support staff for Foreign Exchange Trading Desks. Craig has a BCA from Victoria University of Wellington, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
Kevin Bennett
Director, Head of Research
Kevin is a senior Research Analyst, providing company analysis and modelling. In particular, Kevin leads Harbour’s fundamental company and corporate governance research. Prior to joining Harbour Asset Management, Kevin was employed by AllianceBernstein New Zealand as a Research Analyst in Australasian Equities. In this role Kevin was responsible for equities research with an emphasis on Telco's, media, transport, forestry, healthcare and cyclical stocks. Kevin was previously a Director and Head of Telecommunications Research (Australasia) at Deutsche Bank. Kevin has over 25 years of investment management experience with such companies as AMP Society, Doyle Paterson Brown, Fay Richwhite and Bankers Trust New Zealand. Kevin has a BMS (Hons) from Waikato University.
Susanna Lee
Director, Portfolio Manager
Susanna is the portfolio manager for the Harbour New Zealand Equity Advanced Beta Fund. She has primary responsibility for the equity team’s quantitative research program and Harbour’s currency research and strategy. Susanna was previously employed by AMP Capital where she provided recommendations, analytics and modelling for portfolios, asset classes and dynamic asset allocation decision making across; equities, fixed interest, property and infrastructure, commodities and foreign exchange. Susanna began her career in 2008 at AXA Global Investors where she was responsible for authorising Unit Pricing across all AXA New Zealand domestic and international portfolios, portfolio and market analysis and some foreign exchange research and execution. She holds a Dean's List Award for her Bachelor of Business Studies with Honours in Finance, from Massey University.

Shane has more than 25 years of managing portfolios for investors at ANZ, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, ING and Mint, and has previously managed funds that have won numerous industry awards. Shane is a CFA charter holder and holds a Bachelor of Business in Finance from Massey, where he graduated as a Dean’s list scholar.
Oyvinn Rimer
Director, Senior Research Analyst
Oyvinn is responsible for equity research and ratings on the agriculture, resources, food & beverages, retail, and oil & gas sectors. Oyvinn also provides macroeconomic input to the wider Harbour team on the Chinese economy, which he covers through regular research trips to China. He also supports the Harbour team in implementation, portfolio construction, and quantitative research. Prior to joining Harbour Asset Management, Oyvinn was employed by AllianceBernstein New Zealand for 2 years as Assistant Research Analyst. Oyvinn holds his Master of Commerce from the University of Canterbury with first class Honours in Finance, and is an AFA.
Jorge Waayman
Investment Analyst
As an Investment Analyst, Jorge is primarily responsible for Harbour’s ESG programme and proxy voting, including research and implementation. Harbour’s primary ESG tool, the annual Corporate Behaviour Survey, is overseen by Jorge in conjunction with Kevin Bennett. He also supports the equity team with portfolio operations and quantitative analysis; in particular, database development and portfolio analytics. Jorge began at Harbour as an intern in 2016. He completed his first class BCom (Hons) degree in Finance at Victoria University Wellington prior to joining Harbour.
Simon Momich
Investment Analyst
Simon is an investment analyst in the equities team and is responsible for providing company research, modelling and analysis. He joined the Harbour team in 2017, having previously worked as a lawyer at Simpson Grierson. Simon holds a conjoint Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance and a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington. He has completed levels I and II of the CFA Program. Simon is also an Officer in the Army Reserve and has engaged in emergency disaster relief.

Christian Hawkesby
Executive Director, Head of Fixed Income & Economics
Christian is head of Harbour's fixed interest and income areas of the business and provides macroeconomic research applied across Harbour’s Funds. He is also a member of Harbour’s executive, asset allocation and risk committees. Prior to joining Harbour in 2010, Christian spent 9 years at the Bank of England, where he held senior positions, including Head of Market Intelligence, Chief Manager of the Sterling Markets Division, and Private Secretary to the Deputy Governor. In the Bank of England's dealing room, Christian was responsible for analysis and research, relationships with London and Edinburgh asset managers, designing and launching the special Sterling Corporate Bond Scheme, and advising on the Bank's purchase of £200bn UK government bonds for quantitative easing. Christian began his career at the RBNZ in 1998, where he spent time as both an analyst in the NZ cash, fixed income and FX markets, and as an economist running the RBNZ macroeconomic model. He holds a MCom (Hons) from the University of Canterbury.
Mark Brown
Director, Fixed Income Portfolio Manager
Mark's primary responsibilities lie with the fixed income management process, incorporating credit research, portfolio construction and risk management. Mark has an established history providing care for clients and their fixed income portfolios. For 16 years Mark led the fixed income portfolio management team in a continuous capacity at the business that evolved as National Mutual Funds Management, AXA and then Alliance Bernstein. He produced consistently sound and competitive investment performance throughout, notably including the 2007-2009 global financial crisis. Mark has expertise across the breadth of fixed income disciplines, including risk management, economics, credit and quantitative analysis. Mark began his portfolio management career in 1992 at Credit Suisse Asset Management, London, having previously worked for DFC New Zealand and the Bank of New Zealand. He holds a MBA from the University of Rochester, NY.
Simon Pannett

Simon is an investment analyst in the fixed interest team, where his chief responsibility is credit analysis of issuers within the fixed interest and income funds. In addition, Simon is responsible for designing the strategic asset allocation for multi-asset clients. He also chaired Harbour’s asset allocation committee and has led relationships with iwi clients. Prior to joining Harbour, Simon was a research analyst at Investment Solutions UK in London where he managed a multi-manager global equity portfolio. He started his investment career at AXA Global Investors in Wellington, where his primary role was to select and monitor investment managers across all asset classes. Simon gained a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics from Otago University, where he was awarded the William Emery Scholarship. He is also a CFA Charter holder and an AFA.

Ruari McGregor
Director, Chief Operating Officer
Ruari joined us in 2017 after nine years at Trustees Executors in various management roles, including Senior Client Relationship Manager and Business Projects & Change Manager. Ruari’s expertise lies in the operational details of funds management, and his main duties at Harbour include leading our operational and technological systems, managing legal and regulatory requirements, as well as contributing to organisational strategy, and long-term goals. Prior to his work at Trustees, Ruari held roles at State Street Bank & Trust Co, and Deustche Bank in London and Edinburgh. He has over 15 years’ experience, and holds a BA Honours Degree in Financial Services.
Toni Wood
Client Services Manager
Toni joined the Harbour team in 2014. She has over ten years’ experience in the finance industry, and her primary role at Harbour is to drive the client servicing area. Toni is primarily responsible for ensuring that clients have their reporting and information needs met. She looks after AML requirements and client onboarding and also provides consultant firms with performance data. Overall, Toni provides a central communications touchpoint for all current and prospective Harbour clients. Before joining the team at Harbour, Toni worked for AXA/AMP for 7 years in the Sales and Distribution area. Outside of Harbour, Toni coaches a women’s premiere netball team.
Cheryll Morales
Operations Analyst
Cheryll focuses on providing investment operations and administration support for the equity and fixed income teams. Cheryll has over seven years’ experience with global custodial banks covering fund management, investment and treasury operations, risk management and project management. Cheryll will be working with the team in Harbour’s Wellington office. Prior to joining Harbour, Cheryll was with JP. Morgan Chase for two years, with a focus on cash forecasting, pooling and management, FX modelling and reconciliations. Cheryll also implemented risk control polices and process improvements across the business. In this role Cheryll was responsible for JP Morgan global clients. Prior to JP Morgan, Cheryll worked at UnionBank of the Philippines managing a team responsible for the settlement, accounting and reporting of money market, fixed income, equity and foreign exchange activities for trust and asset management clients. Cheryll has a Masters of Applied Mathematics in Finance.

Before joining the team at Harbour, Toni worked for AXA/AMP for 7 years in the Sales and Distribution area. Outside of Harbour, Toni coaches a women’s premiere netball team.
Cheryll focuses on providing investment operations and administration support for the equity and fixed income teams. Cheryll has over seven years’ experience with global custodial banks covering fund management, investment and treasury operations, risk management and project management. Cheryll will be working with the team in Harbour’s Wellington office. Prior to joining Harbour, Cheryll was with JP. Morgan Chase for two years, with a focus on cash forecasting, pooling and management, FX modelling and reconciliations. Cheryll also implemented risk control polices and process improvements across the business. In this role Cheryll was responsible for JP Morgan global clients. Prior to JP Morgan, Cheryll worked at UnionBank of the Philippines managing a team responsible for the settlement, accounting and reporting of money market, fixed income, equity and foreign exchange activities for trust and asset management clients. Cheryll has a Masters of Applied Mathematics in Finance.
Ainsley McLaren
Executive Director
Ainsley’s core role at Harbour is leading our client relationships, and developing investment solutions to suit their needs. She joined the team in 2017, having previously gained over 25 years’ of extensive investment management experience in number of senior roles, including Executive director and Head of Investment Management at First State Investments (NZ), and Head of Investment Management for ASB Group Investments. Notably, during her time at ASB Group, Ainsley designed and launched the ASB default KiwiSaver scheme, and had no fund suspensions or capital loss during the 2008 financial crisis. Ainsley holds a B.Com in Economics, and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. She is also a Board Member for the Financial Markets Authority, the Government Superannuation Fund Authority and Hohepa Auckland Regional Board.
Sophie Parlane
Communications Manager
Sophie joined the Harbour team in 2016 to drive projects in marketing and communications, including digital and events management. She handles PR, branding and advertising, and editing of Harbour publications and research. Prior to joining Harbour, Sophie was a Project Coordinator at Young Enterprise Trust with experience in content creation, digital communications, and event management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from VUW in Political Science and Social Policy (with a minor in Media Studies). Sophie is currently working her way through a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (Communications) through Massey.
Bella McIntyre
Office Coordinator and EA
Bella joined the Harbour team in 2017 as our Office Coordinator, and EA to Managing Director Andrew Bascand. Her duties include ensuring smooth running of day to day office processes, organising meetings and the Managing Director’s calendar, helping staff with general administration, and assisting the Marketing Coordinator. Prior to joining Harbour, Bella worked at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority in an administrative role. She holds a Bachelor of Communications in Public Relations from Massey University.

Head of Compliance
Debbie Bourne has 15 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Her experience ranges from NZX Participant firms, Private Wealth Management, Funds Management and Insurance. She specialises in Risk and Compliance Management including the responsibilities of AML/CFT Compliance Manager, NZX Compliance Manager and Privacy Officer. Prior to joining First NZ Capital Securities Limited in 2015, Debbie was the Compliance and Risk Manager at JBWere (NZ) Pty Limited. She was the first line of defence Compliance and Operational Risk manager at Westpac NZ Limited in the Private, Wealth and Insurance area. Debbie is an NZX Adviser, has trained as an Authorised Financial Adviser assessor and has completed her ACI Associate Intensive Risk and Compliance course. Debbie is responsible for Harbour Asset Management and FNZC’s Compliance function, which includes working with the business to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements, as well as international best practise standards, are understood and adhered to across the business. She leads a compliance team to deliver compliance education, delivery of regulatory change, liaising with the regulators and providing an independent oversight of internal controls.
Anne-Marie Carian
Director, Product Manager
Anne-Marie leads the Product Management function, and ensures that Harbour’s products comply with regulations. Prior to taking time off to raise a family, Anne-Marie was employed at AllianceBernstein as a Client Relations Associate, where she provided client reporting and servicing for the institutional client base. Anne-Marie began her career with the Bank of New Zealand before travelling to the UK where she worked for JP Morgan Chase in Custody. Anne-Marie holds a Bachelor of Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Massey University.
Mitchell Rooney

Mitchell joined the Harbour team in 2018 as an Operations Analyst to provide investment operations and administrative support to the equity and fixed income teams. He handles cash and stock reconciliations along with compliance and performance reporting. Prior to joining Harbour, Mitchell worked at FNZC in a financial operations role. Mitchell has a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from the University of Otago.
